Husky Energy is seeking a highly motivated Wellhead Platform Drilling Manager for their Drilling and Completions (D&C) team located in St. John's, NL.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Lead the design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational start-up of the wellhead platform (WHP) drilling, completions & intervention facility
Deliver design & commissioning on schedule and within budget, and deliver an operational start up as per the project and planned well schedule
Manage technical components related to WHP construction and drilling and intervention operations, including review, selection, approval and procurement of long lead equipment and any new technologies
Manage the Detailed Design & Engineering (DD&E) Drilling Contractor’s organisational capability and work program to deliver alignment with Husky objectives
Through an integrated effort with the Subsurface Function, oversee well design activity for drilling, completions, and interventions, so that well complexity, pace, cost & resource recovery contribute to optimum capital efficiency for the project
Represent the Drilling Function as its leader in the Project’s multi-disciplinary Management Team, ensuring Front End Loading (FEL) and integration
Represent the Project in regulatory requirements related to the Drilling facility & its operation
Develop & sustain effective communication between the Project and the Drilling Function, including decision-making rights, peer reviews, staff deployment, & other project management activities
Serve as part of the Drilling Function’s management team in the development & deployment of staff, and the development of organisational capability across the Function’s responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required Member in good standing, or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) Minimum 15- 20 years drilling engineering/operations experience Minimum 15- 20 years offshore oil industry experience Experience as a Drilling Manager or Drilling Superintendent for minimum 5 years Experience working with offshore platform-based drilling equipment and operations, including the identification, screening & integration of new technology Experience in the construction or refurbishment, & operation, of offshore platform-based drilling facilities, including drilling, completions & well intervention programs Experience in a highly regulated offshore environment, including personal interaction with advanced regulatory bodies, and development & approval of safety cases Experience in harsh environmental conditions Experience, at management level, of offshore multi-disciplinary projects and operations, including liaison with key other disciplines Experience of managing major offshore contractors in multi-year programs (technical, commercial, contractual experience) Leadership skills are required, including in the areas of project management & integration Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Team building skills, including active development of drilling staff Conflict resolution skills Established internal and external industry network

Medical (Physical) Requirements/Standards:
You will be required to travel/work offshore and, therefore, must successfully complete and maintain the medical assessment and required training for clearance to work in that environment.
