About this opportunity:

This position is to develop and lead a team to safely execute on a strategic supply and logistics plan that optimizes the placement of refined product, including Cenovus equity and third-party supply, through all available Commercial channels to maximize Cenovus margin.

 

The Sr. Manager of Supply, Logistics & Wholesale also has oversight of Wholesale and Export refined product sales aligned as defined by the broader supply plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing 2.2BL of Cenovus equity, 3rd party supply, Supply offtake agreements and distribution of refined products across to Husky’s Commercial, Wholesale, and Export channels optimizing the placement of product and value to the business ensuring that all efforts are directed towards equity, improving profitability of the business by identifying opportunities to capture additional margin and reduce costs, improving efficiency and effectiveness of supply and logistics activities, and managing operating budgets and trade plans in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Responsible for the management of Husky’s Wholesale fuel sales and Export fuel sales to drive incremental revenue, secure integrated value, optimize equity production, and mitigate supply related penalties
  • Develop and actively manage the Supply, Wholesale and Logistics strategy, designed to optimize flow of product and business profitability
  • Responsible for developing a high-performing team of Managers and Individual Contributors; including recruitment, coaching, mentoring and performance and compensation management.
  • Lead team in achieving department objectives by providing team members with challenging opportunities for growth and development and building capacity and capability to meet current and future needs
  • Developing a “trading desk” approach to actively manage production, supply, and related obligations on a real-time basis, leveraging a combination of long-term contracts and spot agreements to optimize equity placement, secure 3rd party supply at the most favorable terms for Husky, and ensuring all bio and regulatory compliance obligations are achieved and monetized through proactive supply planning and active participation in credit markets
  • Prioritize safety and operational integrity in planning for and delivering Supply and Logistics solutions and programs
  • Work closely with Commercial leaders to develop and regularly assess supply plans and forecast to proactively strategize on opportunities to improve the economics and effective marketing of products through efficient and effective supply and distribution planning
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing leaders to proactively strategize on production targets, product specifications, product sales issues related to the supply of products
  • Develop relationships with Supply partners and lead negotiation of contracted product supply and exchange agreements to meet Commercial demand while optimizing equity production and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with other departments across the organization

 

Qualifications:

  • Education level: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or Economics. Master’s degree would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 15 years of related experience, with 5 -10 years of leadership and industry experience managing fuel supply, wholesale sales, trading and logistics functions.
  • Working knowledge of fuels trading processes in Canada and the US
  • Established network with the Canadian fuel suppliers would be considered an asset
