Husky is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for its Heavy Oil and Oil SandsProduction Services Department in Lloydminster.


As part of amulti-discipline engineering team, the Mechanical Engineer supports theoperation, maintenance, and enhancement of existing heavy oil and SAGDfacilities. The Mechanical Engineer works closely with Operations, Maintenance,and Engineering teams within the Business Unit.


Specificresponsibilities will include:

-Providingmechanical engineering support for modifications to existing facilities,including detailed design, authentication of engineering documents, and fieldverification.

-Collaboratingwith other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure designs are safe,reliable, and fit for purpose.

-Participatingin process hazard analysis (What If, HAZOP, LOPA).

-Contributingto engineering quality and compliance with Husky’s Professional PracticeManagement Plan.

-Advocatingand supporting Husky’s Management of Change process.

Ourideal candidate will have the following qualifications:


-Adegree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline, combined withmechanical engineering experience).

-Registrationas a Professional Engineer with APEGA and APEGS (or eligibility for registration).

-Minimum5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, including pressureequipment design.

-Minimum5 years of experience in the petroleum or chemical industry, preferably in Oiland Gas operations.

-Familiaritywith heavy oil and gas production, SAGD, and related process equipment.

-Abilityto work collaboratively within a multi-discipline team.

-Experienceworking with industry codes and standards, such as:

oASMEB31.3, B31.1, and Section VIII

oCSAZ662

oAPI/ASMEFitness-for-service

-Experiencein piping stress analysis would be an asset.

-Proficiencywith Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. SAP) and Microsoft OfficeSuite.

-Avalid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and experience driving on winter gravel roads.

For thisposition you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, asatisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies andguidelines.  A Driver’s abstract will be one of the background checksrequested in the Pre-employment Screening for the final candidate.


As this position has been identified assafety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this positionwill be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employmentmedical and alcohol/drug assessments.
